Congratulations START Interns

The START program funded by NSF START DCL is an opportunity for Skilled Training in Advanced Research & Technology, providing students with an exceptional opportunity to enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities to make significant contributions to the research and industry communities. Participants in the program have achieved remarkable milestones, including outstanding student and poster awards, as well as scholarships.

This program has greatly influenced the interests and career aspirations of the participating individuals. Initially starting at a two-year school, the interns have now transitioned to prestigious institutions. 19 students in the program have attend other universities. Including seven students that will be attending George Mason University (with one enrolled in the honors college), Shyra LaGarde will attend Georgia Institute of Technology, Jacob Cain will attend the University of South Florida, Bilal Jami will attend Virginia Tech, Alexander Fouraker will attend the University of Georgia on a full scholarship.

(The projects our interns worked on are sponsored by NSF, NASA, and NOAA)
