Digital Twin Webinar 11: Economic Impact By Climate Change

On October 4, 2024 our 11th Digital Twin Webinar was hosted on Zoom. This webinar is focused on Climate Change, a topic that has deep and long term impacts to our home planet and human society. One of such impact is the economic fluctuation, this webinar invited four experts to discuss how to measure economic change using air quality observations, economic impact by natural hazards, and climate change impact on insurance.

Keynote speakers included Laura A. Bakkensen from the University of Arizona she will deliver a keynote on the economic impact of climate hazards, followed by Martin Rama, former World Bank Chief Economist, who will present on measuring global economic activity using air pollution. The discussion included panelists Daniel Riera-Crichton and Luis Ortiz, whom offered insights on air pollution’s role in global economic activity and the insurance impacts of climate change, respectively. All in all, our invited experts will discuss:
        – What economic aspects are vulnerable to climate change?
        – How the economic change may be observed?
        – How to measure and analyze such changes?
        – Could we simulate to forecast such change?
