START INTERN TAYVEN STOVER WINS SECOND PLACE AT HONORS SYMPOSIUM FOR AIR QUALITY PREDICTION RESEARCH

Tayven Stover, an STC NSF START Intern from Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), showcased his impressive research at the college’s Honors Symposium, earning second place for his presentation. The research was part of his intern at the Spatiotemporal IUCRC using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) models to identify and predict patterns in air pollution using a Webapp. A panel of professors from NVCC served as judges, commending Tayven’s work for its methodology, thoroughness, and potential real-world applications.
