Welcome ASSIP Interns

This summer is the start of an exciting new program designed to cultivate the talents of young aspiring scientists. This exclusive cohort is comprised seven high school students who will participate in an internship program at George Mason University. The program offers a chance to gain hands-on experience using innovative resources and engage in personally selected projects within the STC center. Participants will also have the privilege of receiving collaborative mentorship from Ph.D. students and Professors.

Nikita Roa and Pat O’Brien have teamed up to tackle an exciting project, ClassX, with the guidance of Anusha and Jiakang. Meanwhile, Abishek Kanthan and Andrew Yang have set their sights on projects that delve into the fascinating realm of machine learning. Their work will focus on image classification and PM2.5 retrieval using PyTorch and GPU computing. By initiating ASSIP, George Mason University and the STC center remains dedicated to nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and providing transformative experiences for aspiring scientists.
